god i love the dialogue in this game so much!!!!! ngl i really wanted to give the kids kidney medicine dslfklksfjkldsf oh also malewife rights? lets gooooo we love to see it :^)))) also i really gave a sign depression huh, amazing. oh and i love train station lady esp the dialogue when u ask about the bird statue (i think?) about hating everything the mc says? *chefs kiss*
possible bug ?????? i did the thing where u say no to ending the game and then cant get through the fence again so i had to start at my last save which was before the wife/bird stuff. i think if u do the found bird dialogue before the found wife dialogue u dont have the option to do the wife anymore? BUT bc i was replaying it idk if i was like mindlessly clicking through everything and therefore just didnt the process the conversation?????? so this might not actually be a bug and i mightve just made it up??????? in which case im sorry dsklfjdlkfjsdfds oh also found bird convo was after i had the convo with train lady so mc knew wife was just at work. idk if that makes a diff? dslfjklfjsdfs
Bug: at the end when it asked if I want to proceed to the end game I said NO, since I wanted to try to talk again with the train station guy. But when I went back to the beach the fence was up again! I cannot finish the game :(
great game! wish there was more quests and/or areas, but overall pretty good
edit: i thought that the wife thing would be a fun side quest but it was not. also, it might be cool if you could go back the way you came after reaching the end
i agree wholeheartedly, on a 3-week deadline I had to keep my scope super limited and there's tons it would have been fun to explore! id love to make a follow up and actually spend time on it lolol. great feedback, thanks for playing!
Story kind of had a pointless and preachy ending. Like it tried being deep just for the sake of being "deep", without actually knowing how to get there, not allowing itself to justify to the player why it needs to do so. The open-ended "Where's the actual Putrid Shark? WHOOPS GAME OVER YOU'LL NEVER KNOW" and the fact that in the end game you can only fight the dolphin, which results in a pointless babble about how pointless all of it is, not explaining how they got there, why there's an angry mob, etc. All leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Obviously just a badly-written "Look how deep we can be! Morals are stupid! And you're stupid for having them!" Artsy-Fartsy half-game.
I'm glad you were able to read and respond to that tiny excerpt from my entire analysis. I'd advise you to read and respond to the rest of it as well. Thanks.
I get the impression the ending is way less serious than it seems. In fact, I'm almost convinced that the non-fight options were at least partially generated by a markov chain. So a half-game, but not very artsy-fartsy.
Still better than most NES game endings.
That aside, everyone and everything else in this game was super fun and likable and I'd love to see it expanded into something more.
I tried the game out and it really feels like an old game boy game. I love the characters and their interactions especially the train station lady. Overall an enjoyable experience. Totally a shark/10 . However... Where is the Putrid Shark

"story had a pointless ending" thats the whole idea

You must be fun at parties.
Thank you. I am the life of the party.
Why?

This is so cute and fun!! Does anyone know how to find the bird statue?
hey, thank you so much! (take the old man's advice about it, I think he knows what he's talking about!)
if you still need help, talk to the old man and then go back to the first area and talk to the sign
this is laugh out loud funny and i really related to it too!
